Many factors go into how long it takes to get from initial interest to surgery. Insurance may require a certain amount of time for you to complete your nutrition education. We specialize in minimally invasive techniques. Some people go right back to work, even the day after surgery if their job is more sedentary and some prefer to take up to 4 weeks off. Most feel like themselves within a week after surgery.
If you are coming in from out of the area, please plan to arrive at least one day prior to surgery and stay for at least two days afterwards.
Whether you are travelling by plane, train, or automobile, we recommend that every hour you get up and walk around for about 5 minutes. This will help prevent blood clots from forming and can help with any lingering gas pain.
Some surgery locations advise using a soap containing Chlorhexidine (ex. Hibliclens) 3 times prior to surgery: day before surgery, night before surgery, and morning of surgery. This cleanser can be found at any pharmacy or online. More information will be sent via email prior to your procedure.
